Coleman, a 6-3, 305-pound senior who started 32 straight games,
attracted the interest of Division 1-AA Howard University in Washington, D.C.
The Patriots' three-year starter hopes to turn around a Bisons' program that
finished 2-9 in 2009.

SEAN MCAULIFFE:
McAuliffe, at 6-2, 240 pounds, will play next season at Wayne State University,
which is coming off a 6-5 season and 5-5 record in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference. McAuliffe, who had a total of 85 tackles, including 11 for
loss his senior year, will join another former Patriot standout, Pat Cecile, at WSU.

FIRST TEAM OFFENSE
Nate Coleman, Sr. OL, Liv. Franklin:
The 6-3, 305-pound senior, a three-year starter on offense, makes his second
straight appearance on the All-Observer first-team after helping the Patriots to
their third straight Division 1 state playoff berth. Coleman also excelled on
defense with 69 tackles, including five sacks. "Nate never missed a game in 32
games," Kelbert said.

FIRST TEAM DEFENSE
Sean McAuliffe, Sr. DL, Liv. Franklin:
The 6-2, 240-pound senior defensive end and guard finished with a total of 85
tackles, including 11 for loss, and four sacks en route to All-State and All-KLAA
recognition. The two-year starter also played guard. "Sean is one of the hardest
working players we've had at Franklin," Kelbert said. "He'll be the one player we
couldn't be able to replace next year."

After 50 years of coaching, Armand Vigna calls it quits (again). He will be missed, but never forgotten.
"The locker room will not be the same" explained head coach Chris Kelbert, and he's right. Coach Vigna has
made a huge impact on literally thousands of student athletes in his legendary career. We wish him and his wife
the best, and expect to see them around on the occasional Friday night.

Congratulations to Sean McAuliffe for being named to the Division 1 All-State Defensive team.
Sean spent many hours in the weight room in the off-season, and it showed on the field all season long.
Honorable mention was given to Nate Coleman, who like Sean spent a lot of time training for the 2009 season.

Livonia Franklin accomplished one of their 2009 season goals: Be the best in Livonia.
Freshman, JV and Varsity were all victorious in the season opener, against Livonia Stevenson, back in August. They achieved the same result mid-September with wins from all
three squads over Livonia Churchill.

Benjamin Franklin High School, also referred to as Franklin High School, Livonia Franklin and FHS, is a public high school located in Livonia, Michigan, United States. Established in September 1961, it is a part of the Livonia Public Schools district. The school currently educates approximately 1,800 students from a portion of southern Livonia and northern Westland. The school mascot is the patriot and the school colors are red and blue.
Franklin is a Class A athletic school and is part of the Kensington Lakes Activities Association and are in the south division.
Livonia Franklin has had an undefeated regular season three times in school history, in 1964, 1974 and 2005. In 1975 they won the state championship under coach Armand Vigna and George Lovich, who both are assistants under Chris Kelbert .
From 1973-1975, future Michigan Wolverines football coach Lloyd Carr coached at John Glenn and he never beat Franklin. Including a 1975 season where John Glenn went 8-1 and Carr won state coach of the year. Carr 0-3 vs. Livonia Franklin.

The 2009 Michigan Preps Football Combine was a huge success on Saturday and the overflow day on Wednesday night. There were 420 athletes that participated on Saturday and another 53 last night.
